Win a double pass to Taste of New Zealand

20110928-063403.jpg

Taste New Zealand has given me a double pass to give away to one of our blog readers. The tickets are valid for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday sessions.

Picture Auckland’s Victoria Park on a warm afternoon amongst a buzzing crowd, a delicious plate courtesy of Rick Stein in one hand and a food-matched glass of Mount Riley Pinot Noir in the
other. Leisurely meander amongst over 140 kiosks displaying the finest New Zealand artisan producers, sample boutique wines, oil, chocolate and breads.

If that wasn’t enough to satisfy your senses there is an all-star line up of award winning chefs such as Rick Stein, Gary Rhodes, Josh Emett, Annabelle Langbein, Warren Turnbull, Jonny Schwass & Ben Bayly who will be sharing their knowledge and culinary skills with you.

Make sure you see other fantastic Festival features including the Fisher & Paykel Kitchen, Waiwera Chef’s Table, Peroni Bandstand, The Whiskey Shop Masterclass and the Small Producers Market. Sample tasting size servings from a selection of New Zealand’s top restaurants serving their signatures dishes:

The Grove
Roasted Kiritane crayfish with Beurre Café de Paris and Vivian cress.
Dallows at Sale St
Cured big eye tuna with verbena jelly, avocado, lemon oil dust and Japanese style tomatoes.
District Dining
NZ oysters with Vietnamese dressing, crispy shallots and coriander.
Cocoro
Charcoal grilled sumiyaki grain fed Angus beef eye fillet, garlic teriyaki sauce, carrot and Gobo burdock puree.
Marvel Grill
Marvel Mixed Grill – Lamb cutlet, eye fillet, pork hunter sausage with roasted garlic watercress and merlot jus.
Ponsoon Poon
South Indian Venison Curry – Canterbury wild venison slow cooked with garam masala, cumin, coriander and chilli.
The Wharf
Sugared saffron strawberries served with dark chocolate mousse, biscotti crumb, vanilla mascarpone and hot mint.

What does the double pass give you? Entry for two to one of the following sessions: Wednesday 19th October, Thursday 20 October, Friday 21st October: 12.00 – 4.30pm and 5.30 – 9.00pm

So how do you get your hands on the free double pass? Just leave a comment at the end of this post and perhaps tell us what you are looking forward to about the event.
We will do a draw on Wednesday, 5th October 2011 and announce the lucky winner.

The competition is limited to New Zealand residents only.

I’d like to be entered do I could gift the tickets to my mum who lives in Auckland. She was widowed when us kids were early teens & worked hard to bring us up. Now she’s retired and on a limited budget, an event like this would be really special for her 🙂

  7. I would really love the chance to enjoy this whole experience for the first time and taste delicious dishes that probably otherwise I’d not have the chance to try. What a lovely surprise to come on your blog and find this.

I am looking forward to a time of great food, friends, wines and advice. Taste combines all these elements to bring a day of fun and fantastic experiences. Being introduced to new foods, flavour combinations and techniques sounds like a dream day to me.
