We Came, We Blogged, We Enjoyed – NZFBA Conference
The day after New Zealand’s first annual food bloggers conference and I have the same feeling the day after Christmas or when you come to the end of a really good book. What a day it was, 26 people you have only conversed with on Internet, coming together as stranger but leaving as good friends….a big family even.
I think I am just winding down, beer in hand and good French cheese and bread on the table waiting come to room temperature. Even though there is an empty space where the conference organising build up sat for months, I have warm fuzzies from all the friends I made on the day and the enthusiasm they all have for next years conference. We already plotted into the small hours of the morning after the event for next years, where did we find the energy?
A big thanks to all our presenters, Andrea, Jaco, Alessandra, Bron, Emma, Louise and and our venue hosts The Tasting Shed for the conference venue and Cook the Books for the evening event.
A big thanks to our sponsors who generously gave us yummy delights.

So envious – wish I had been there! What a wonderful idea
Without your foresight, determination and hard work this new NZ food blogging family would never have been forged this weekend. Thanks so much for all your hard work and bringing on board such support from sponsors and speakers. I came away with such a kick of inspiration. Look forward to the next one!
Looks like a great time.
I must go to the next one! Lovely meeting you at the gardens, however short it was 🙂
I really do hope you cam get to the next one too xx
The hugest thanks must go to you, Alli! You have done the most wonderful job organising everything! I think that we all came away with some nuggets of learning, new friends and lots of inspiration (and an awesome goodie bag).
Bring on For The Love Of Food 2012!
Thanks again for organising Alli!
Thanks to your initiative, determination and dedication. You made it happen for all of us !
Thanks again for all your hard work and making things happen:) x
You’ve reminded me that I really need to get back into food blogging. Slack doesn’t even begin to cover my lack of bloggage (but there has been awesome cake) Think Tres Leches! nom nom
Thank you Allie, it was a fantastic day, and I am happy that you keep ‘plotting’ until late about future NZFBA events!

Wow! This looks really fun — and what a great way to connect with other foodies. I’m totally jealous. 🙂
Alli you are a star! Thank you so much for all your hard work, your amazing hospitality and expert motorway navigation. It was a most excellent weekend!! xox
A great event! It looks like you had a great time.
Cheers,
Rosa
It was a great day and fantastic to look back on it via other peoples posts. D you ever get to the European ones?
Such a fantastic weekend! You did an amazing job & I am looking forward to planning 2012!! O
What a great day. I’m off to my first food blogger conference this weekend and am really looking forward to being able to talk food for a whole day 😉
Ooo, is that the UK conference? I am wondering whether I can squeeze a European conference in one time when back home :o)
Thanks so much for all your hard work Alli – you really did make it a great day. Lovely to meet everyone! Looking forward to 2012 🙂
You are amazing Alli! Jaco talking about the conference non-stop for at least two days. My guess is that you would need space for double the amount of people next year. It was lovely to meet you on Sunday and thank you so much again by dropping us off in town! We had a great time in Auckland
Many thanks for a fantastic day, Alli! I enjoyed every moment of it, and what a great group of people. Thanks for all your hard work.
Thanks everyone for your kind words, I’m glad everyone enjoyed it and took something away from the day, knowledge I mean, not goodie bags :o) Hopefully it is the beginning of bringing our little blogger community together, I look forward to more catch ups and next years conference
